Racing A Tamiya Hotshot vintage RC Car


rc car racing is awesome but how do the cars from our childhood do on the monitor. I get to find out when I race the Tamiya Hotshot at the 2022 Iconic RC revival occasion .
Up versus some rigid competition with the kyoshos and schumacher cars of aged ruling the rostrum .
This 1985 basic rc car usually takes to the observe. 4wd nostalgia

    Great vid as always…..for me, Iconic is like the RC equivalent of the whole Goodwood Revival scene lol…loads of old school stuff actually on track being raced.

    The Hotshot was my first RC car as well. Lots of great memories with that buggy then graduated to the RC10.

    I still think the Hotshot is an absolute looker of an RC car, and it has this sort of charm as it trundles along. It Is heavy and not particularly agile for sure, but it'll make you smile.

    Back when they actually looked good before they ruined the looks of them with the stupid cab forward designs.

    The Hotshot was amazing then and still is.
    Today motors and batteries make things fast, but can you control it.
    It’s a great piece of rc history and yes I’ve still got my original from 1985.

    Would love to get back into racing my Schumacher pro cat just wondering what battery’s can you use now ? And what voltage can you run up too ?

    I built me one …I changed stock silver motor to the Tamiya super stock z motor….magnets are super strong in the motor so it cogs really hard pushing it bk n forth also changed bushings to ball bearings in motor
