  1. We now know the resistance of the potentiometers SHOULDN'T have mattered. They're used as voltage dividers, so even if the resistance is different, it should have worked fine. However, while testing, when using the stock pedal's pots, we'd either have 100% or 0 throttle and nothing in between – hence why we tried to use matching pots.

As this is just a proof of concept, basically just to figure out if this is as cool as we imagined (and it is), we just needed the car to accelerate and brake in a controllable manner. The rest will be figured out for the actual final build. 😀

now we have mario live home curcuit

  3. Tech_ 49FPV says:

FPV fixed wings and freestyle/racing quadrotors are even MORE fun.

  4. Onkel Phil says:

You also just could have gone with a 10k resistor in parallel… It isn`t as linear as the poti, but it is cheaper and there is less risk to damage the wheel … =D

  5. sellman6278 says:

Yea that's the bumper not the window lol

  6. Shelby says:

If only there was a hobby that involved controlling a vehicle remotely that also involved some type of "FPV" goggle system that allowed you see from the vehicles point of view……………..

  7. I have a very similar wheel for ps4 and seeing them cut into the pedals gave me chills

  8. OzzieFZ says:

this guy expecting traxxas to be slow oof

  9. 3:35 For people there are in to rc cars don't click on it plz, I am sick af now

  10. PlainCheese says:

CAN WE PLEASE GET A UPDATE ON THIS!

  11. I wonder if a 360 camera and a real 3d VR enviroment would be cool for driving that, I know the transmiter would have to be more expensive to send the data from 360 live image, and you probably would need a beefy computer for rendering the image in a VR mode but it would be amazing I think

  12. Is it not funny every time i see the old intro i say "This is the garbage" Just cause I like the new intro cuz it has a gaming keyboard

  13. mafu says:

calling fpv as vr angers me

  14. Next video: driving remote controlled Tesla with VR

  15. Where is the follow-up video on how exactly this was done. I've gotta be able to do this with my crawler

  16. Honza says:

Maybe you've had added yourself work with trying to match potentiometers – they are usually connected as voltage dividers, so output is between voltage source and ground regardless of total resistance. Pedals are a bit more tricky… Maybe it'd be easier to replace input part of transmitter with a microcontroller a feeding right signal to transmitter part.
About speed of the thing, you can use crawler motor to slow it down.
Yeah, comment is 2 years too late and won't be visible in 3k of other.. but gotta try my luck 😀

  17. herozero777 says:

link to the next video ?

  18. Jay American says:

Y'all should revisit this as the tech has advanced significantly since this video.

  19. carmatic says:

if this was me, I would have used a crawler as a platform – it is slow by nature, and the chassis on most crawlers come with useful properties such as the flexibility of conveniently placed mounting holes, or even the enclosed space in a space frame chassis , which lets you build inside the chassis rather than on top of it
on a larger model, this would provide enough space for a camera stabilization mount, for instance

  20. carmatic says:

7:25 this is why you have to calculate the angle of rotation of the potentiometers, in addition to their total resistance value

  21. Aidan’s Rc says:

with radio controlled vehicles its consider "fpv" or short for first person view and is more common on drones.

  22. vnc t. says:

    where ltx expo?

  23. So basically an FPV from but on the floor?

  24. Brian W says:

Very Clever, make the links in the description say the product is not available in my country or region so I go check out the VPN you promoted.

  25. I've been thinking there's either already VR racing or there should be,like the 1/5 late models

  26. __ says:

As someone who spent about 100 hours trying to remake a racing wheel from a garage sale basically from scratch (fittingly a logitech wingman formula gp) it's cool to finally see someone else opening one of these up and then struggle with potentiometers that seem to have a mind of their own

  27. Zeek M says:

Come and get it if you think you can take me in a TRX-4 challenge Lambo.
I will allow you every mod. Do not start to believe anything is water proof.
That right there tells you exactly what would be going on.
It's not a basher challenge, We all know your reaction time is that of a retarded yard gnome. lol

  28. kavkaz87 says:

That head pound pause after 💀

  29. The intro “blurb” should’ve been “VR RC GP”
