  1. You should shoot this guy WheelemVerbโ€™s V70 – much smaller YouTuber but youโ€™d like him I think.

Every time Willem posts a video working with another big magazine or commission it makes me incredibly happy. Being an excellent photographer is one thing, but being a unique photographer who really produces work that stands apart from contemporaries in photography is rare and incredible to watch the process.

I could have spotted your style a mile away and the end images are just jaw-dropping, I often pause the video to just stare at some of these pictures for a while.

Great stuff! Such a broad range of landscapes you covered as well!

I love the photos, Willem. As someone who has flipped through so many car magazines over the years, itโ€™s so great to see an institution like Road & Track request images that arenโ€™t the typical photos we see in every car spread. There are definitely some incredibly talented car photographers out there, but itโ€™s so nice to see your simple, stripped down, intimate shoot between you, the car, the driver and the road. And orange was a great color for this!

You are a true inspiration to my photography and automotive passion. Two things I have always struggled to bring together as I lean towards photography of natural subjects. You have challenged me to expand my photography and integrate my passion for cars.

When you take a picture with a digital camera, one way or another, the camera "makes up" the picture. There is a data decryption algorithm based on the processor and the matrix gives the result. In fact, this decoding algorithm is the โ€œinventionโ€ of a photograph. At the same time, as a rule, photographs of people, still on the camera screen, are โ€œcorrectedโ€. Modern photographers prefer mirrorless cameras. More and more I heard the testimony: "so as not to meet to look into the viewfinder." It's convenient – to look at the screen like a TV, "turn the wheels" on the go and when you like the picture on the screen, just select the option. Despite this, it cannot be said that SLR cameras, in our time, have ceased to be popular and have become a thing of the past. There are still those professionals who use their advantage and device to the fullest. But, photographs on film come across from other types of photographs. For example, if you give a person who takes photos with a digital camera a film camera and ask them to take a picture, in most cases they will not get a good photo. In fact, people have forgotten how to take pictures and attach a frame to โ€œcorrectโ€ or simply press a button on full auto. Of course, it's convenient. However, real photography is painting with light. And in my mind, a real photograph can only be taken on film. Everything else is an attempt to make life easier for mankind. But, simplifying our lives, we certainly lose the meaning and quality of photography. When I say โ€œcorrect a photoโ€, I mean changing the exposure settings after taking the picture. Either on the screen, seeing the result before the observed on the descent, or after the frame has been found, the photographer sees some events and changes; then again and again…
